Appropriate for all grade levels, this lesson compares two religious structures of very different architectural styles to explore sacred architecture, community change, and religious and cultural diversity in Los Angeles. It is designed to complement a class visit to these sites for firsthand observation, yet it can be adapted to any two sacred structures or historic buildings. It offers specific curriculum connections to English-Language Arts (Writing) and History-Social Science.
